Heading home day 2

We left Cleveland and headed west on I-80. Tom only whined a little as else drove past Sandysky, OH (Cedar Point).

He was rewarded for his good behavior however since we stopped at a brewpub for lunch.

Flossmoor IL near Chicago
Then we drove to Des Moines IA. We drove though rain for about 3 hours, but it cleared off just in time from see the sunset in Iowa...

The mirror shows what's behind us .

We had a room booked in near Des Moines in Ankeny at a Super 8, but found out when we got there they did not allow pets. This despite the fact they were listed in pet friendly travel listings. Apparently every one in the Midwest decided to stay in The Des Moines area because there were NO rooms other than smoking :-(

We kept driving, and found a room (at another Super 8) in a small community called Adair IA. Nothing fancy, but was very satisfactory, and welcome since it was 11pm when we got checked in. Quiet area even though it was right off I-80.

We were glad to get out of the car and stretch all 4 legs and get some dinner. Even though it's pretty comfy in the car...

It's good to walk around. Dad was glad to be there too.

Only 1,750 miles to go!!
